More than two years later, Boston indie-pop outfit Minks have finally announced the follow-up to their 2011 debut album, By the Hedge. The record, titled Tides End, is out August 6 through Captured Tracks. Download “Everything’s Fine” and stream “Painted Indian” off the forthcoming LP below.
Los Angeles-based electronic duo Soft Metals (aka Ian Mills and Patricia Hall) have announced the follow-up to their self-titled 2011 debut album. Lenses will be out on July 29th through Captured Tracks, and features guest appearances by Diego Herrera of Suzanne Kraft and Pharaohs, as well as a guest spot by Keith McIvor of Glasgow mainstay Optimo. Montreal-based garage-popper Mac DeMarco has unveiled the video for “My Kind of Woman,” one of the standout tracks from his excellent 2012 album, 2, out now on Captured Tracks. The video is directed by Alex Lill, who says of the video: “We wanted to do something different, so changed the track’s original intention of being a love song between a man and a woman to become an ode between a man and himself—his feminine self.” Watch it below.
